Primavera

The collection is based on the medieval revival of the 1960s focusing especially on reinterpreting the late 1400’s. Botticelli’s Primavera painted in around the 1470s is a major inspiration for the color palette and botanical influences within the painting.
The pants are the main piece for the collection. The puffy shape reflects garments from the time period, which would be gathered around the knee. These pants are longer at a capri length, which is a reflection of contemporary sensibilities. This length was popular in the 1960s and is popular today. It has a buttoned waistband which appears more traditional than a zipper.

The shorts, top, and skirt are loosely inspired from clothing and architecture of the medieval time period, using colors from the Primavera painting.

The jacket is based on a Dutch cloak from the early 1500s.

70% Rayon, 30% Linen Plain weave

This top and skirt are directly inspired by the painting. The loose shape reflects the shapes found on the figures in the painting. The colors are also directly from the painting.
